Gunma

Gunma is located in Kanto Region. It is just less than one hour from Tokyo by bullet train. Oze National Park is the largest highland marsh in Japan and has the most popular hiking and trekking trails. Tomioka Silk Mill, established in the late 19th and early 20th, is a World Heritage site. Takasaki is known for Daruma dolls. Sekizenkan is known to be Japan’s oldest existing hot-spring Japanese-style hotel. It was built in 1694 and inspired the Oscar Award-winning animated film “Spirited Away.” Gunma is knows for udon noodle, Joshu Wagyu sukiyaki and more. The Capital is Maebashi City.
