If you recognize the word “Ghibli,” you won’t want to miss the newly constructed Ghibli Park. For those who don’t know, Ghibli Studio's films are among Japan's ten highest-grossing anime feature films.
Ghibli Park picks up on all the studio’s animation themes and is the perfect place for us anime nerds! The Park was constructed on and within the grounds of the Aichi Commemorative Park for Expo 2005, Moricoro Park. Explore the delights while strolling and feeling the wind, and discover the hidden features of Studio Ghibli and the recognizable buildings from the movies.
HOT TIP: If you don’t have time to visit Aichi Prefecture, visit the Ghibli Museum in Tokyo. It’s much smaller, but you can spend a day immersing yourself in the world of Ghibli. If you see the museum, be sure to stop at Mr. Miyazaki’s brother’s bakery and get some yummy Totoro cream puffs. Check out my food section for more information.
